Over recent months we’ve been working behind the scenes and have taken the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders including service users, referrers, staff and volunteers around the merit of slightly changing our name from Dove Hospice to ‘Dove Hospice & Wellness’.

“We believe by including ‘wellness’ in our name that we better describe the broad range of wonderful hospice and ‘return to wellness’ services we do deliver to our community”, says Simon Jones, our Dove Hospice Executive Trustee. “We also hope this subtle rebranding will invite enquiry from potential service users about the ‘wellness’ services we also offer plus remove some of the initial fear often associated with being referred to a hospice”.
Stephanie Forde, our Integrated Care Manager says “I think the rebrand better describes our Model of Care which offers so much more than the traditional focus of Hospices which is End-of-Life Care. We provide support, treatments, and wellness packages of care for people from the time of diagnosis with a life challenging condition and in an ongoing way. It is a very holistic approach which also spreads to whanau, carers and the bereaved. At Dove House there is also a focus on education, 1/1 therapies and counselling and group support to empower and enable”.⠀⠀
