We are very proud to show off a new therapy massag

We are very proud to show off a new therapy massage table that has recently arrived for use by our Body Therapies clinical team at Dove House.

This luxuriously padded massage table adjusts for supreme comfort, with hydraulics adjusting the back and leg position. An adjustable head and arm rests affords comfort and allows a patient to relax fully into their Body Therapy Session.

A big thank you to Hospice NZ grants programme supported by Harcourts Foundation for awarding us with a grant to help us afford to upgrade our equipment to continue offering our first-class holistic care services. 😊

Do you know about the Irish palliative care symbol?

Today for St. Patrick's day, we're highlighting this emblem that is displayed in many clinical facilities in Ireland.

A universally recognised symbol that indicates the end of life—It's inspired by ancient Irish history and is not associated with any one religion or denomination.

The three-stranded white spiral represents the interconnected cycle of life: birth, life and death. The white outer circle represents continuity, infinity and completion. Purple is the background colour as it's associated with nobility, solemnity and spirituality.

Acute hospitals, residential care centres and nursing homes in Ireland are using the symbol to indicate that a person is dying or has died.

Many have the symbol and an explanation of what it means in their entrance hall and public areas. The public displaying of it acknowledges that the delivery of quality end-of-life care is an important part of the work they do.
