Introducing our guest stylist, Michiko Hylands!

Michiko Hylands has had a successful career working in the fashion industry. Inspired by her mother who has a beautiful collection of fashion pieces which she has cared for like treasures, Michiko has a huge love for retro and vintage fashion and is a dedicated secondhand fashion supporter.

After studying Fashion Design and Makeup Artistry, Michiko started her career working with costume design and progressed to styling and wardrobe positions across TV, film, for renowned celebrities and red-carpet events. You may be familiar with Shortland Street, Hercules, Xena, TVNZ, Network Ten (Australia), Australian Idol and the Aria Music Awards to name a few.
Michiko also made finalist in the Young Designer of the Year in the Benson & Hedges Fashion Awards and the World of Wearable Arts Awards.

After having twins, Michiko left TVNZ to pursue freelance work. For five years she worked as the Fashion and Beauty Editor for the Herald on Sunday producing their weekly style and beauty pages, and now continues to work on styling and make-up for magazine photoshoots, tv, advertising and as well as personal styling.
