The Journey of Junk 2 Go:

Since its inception in 2005, Junk 2 Go has been synonymous with efficient and reliable rubbish collection and junk removal services in Auckland. What began as a small operation has grown into a multi-faceted business catering to diverse needs, including DIY and building site rubbish collection, commercial waste management, and retail and office space junk removal.

The Genesis of Junk 2 Go:

How does one end up starting a rubbish collection business in Auckland? For Dave Lewis, the path was unconventional yet inspiring. After years of working in the hospitality industry, including a stint on the QE2, Dave was ready to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. His initial dream was to open a café, but when the bank didn’t support his vision, he pivoted to starting a lawn mowing company named Maxwell’s. It was through this venture that Dave discovered a burgeoning demand for rubbish removal services. Recognizing the opportunity, he sold the lawn mowing business and thus, Junk 2 Go was born.

Growing the Fleet

In 2012, Junk 2 Go took a significant step forward by expanding its fleet with new, environmentally friendly, low-emission junk trucks. This expansion was not just about increasing capacity; it was about committing to sustainability. The new purpose-built trucks enabled the company to enhance its operations while reducing its environmental footprint. With this growth, Junk 2 Go also moved to a new depot in Avondale, positioning itself to better serve the expanding needs of Auckland’s communities.

Reaching New Heights

As Junk 2 Go continued to grow, so did its ability to serve more areas. By increasing the number of trucks on the road, the company has been able to collect more junk, transfer more garden waste, and eliminate clutter faster than ever.

This growth has allowed Junk 2 Go to enter new suburbs of Auckland, bringing their reliable and efficient rubbish removal services to more residents and businesses.

A Commitment to Sustainability with Dove Hospice and Wellness

Junk2Go is deeply committed to sustainability, a value evident in both their practices and their strategic partnerships. Recently, they have re-established a partnership with us to enhance their environmental responsibility efforts. This collaboration focuses on maximising landfill diversion, ensuring as much waste as possible is repurposed or recycled.
Through this partnership, Junk 2 Go and Dove Hospice and Wellness work together to minimise waste and connect people to sustainability initiatives. We at dove play a crucial role in helping the community by offering quality second-hand goods. The items collected by Junk 2 Go that are still in good condition are kindly donated to us, the proceeds from these sales support our hospice’s vital services, creating a positive cycle of reuse and community support.
